The role will manage a non-media budget between $9M - $11M annually and will report directly to the Vice President, Marketing, Group Benefits. The AVP Marketing, Group Benefit, will lead a team of 21, with three direct reports. This position is based in Hartford, CT. Primary Responsibilities: * In direct partnership with the Vice President, deliver the Group Benefits digital marketing investment agenda to brokers, customers and consumers. Will include, but is not limited to: o Managing marketplace delivery of 2017-18 Digital Roadmap, including cadence of external deliverables related to Agile Sprints as well as broader positioning of portfolio. o A robust Voice of the Customer program, driven by longitudinal surveys (such as NPS), as well as cloud-based customer experience software programs (such as Medallia, Knexus) o Content strategies for the digital deliverables, including direct alignment to non-digital assets in the customer experience * Leads a team of B2B marketers to deliver an aggressive portfolio of investment to brokers and customers, including: o Multiple 360-degree campaigns, including launches of new products and services, backed by aggressive brand, social and public relations strategies; o Voluntary capabilities, including customer-level enrollment campaigns, tightly aligned to sales and training metrics in this growth space; * Leads a team of B2C marketers to meet aggressive sales goals in the association/affinity space with focus on: o Strategies to create room for digital marketing within traditional direct marketing calendars; o Modeling and performance measurement to ensure maximum premium is extracted through current relationships, including pushes to the Millennial marketplace; o Proactive marketing campaigns to attract new associations, particularly driven by digital marketing expertise. * Leads a creative services team, responsible for managing all content produced by the Marketing teams in accordance with corporate brand standards. * Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Marketing, Mathematics/Statistics or other relevant subject area (MS/MA, MBA or other appropriate advanced degree preferred) * Minimum of ten years relevant experience in marketing in a corporate or corporate and agency setting. Ideal background would include: o Direct response marketing. Knowledge of direct marketing, digital acquisition (SEO, paid search, display, direct mail, phone and online sales) and direct fulfilment. S/he will lead efforts to improve direct acquisition efficiency including cost per response, total cost to acquire. o Experience with and knowledge of advertising production and creative services teams and processes. S/he will interface directly with multiple centers of excellence on a corporate level. o Experience leading a marketing transformation from traditional to digital channels strongly preferred. o Team management and effective interpersonal and leadership skills, including a minimum of three years of experience directly managing and leading others. S/he must add to a nurturing team culture and have a demonstrable ability to influence while working well through all levels of the organization. Must have a track record of successful communication and influencing skills within a corporate setting. o Demonstrated ability to effectively monitor, interpret, and analyze external market and business conditions and to translate them into relevant recommendations with respect to marketing strategy and tactics o Results driven and metrics oriented; prefers the challenge of a fast-paced and goal oriented organization. * Experience in Group Benefits, or other relevant experience from a highly regulated industry preferred., * Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Marketing, Mathematics/Statistics or other relevant subject area (MS/MA, MBA or other appropriate advanced degree preferred) * Minimum of ten years relevant experience in marketing in a corporate or corporate and agency setting.
