Responsibilities

Gannett Fleming is seeking a highly motivated professional to serve as Northeast Regional Area Manager - Senior Project Manager for Construction Services in Connecticut and New York as part of our Northeast Region of our Construction Services Practice. As Senior Project Manager, you will serve as lead on large scale Construction Management Transportation (highway/bridge) projects and lead business development activities. Successful candidates will have demonstrated project management and business development experience for major Connecticut/New York Metro area public Transportation clients including ConnDOT and NYSDOT and established relationships with these clients. In addition, viable candidates will possess a proven and verifiable track record of winning and executing (seller-doer) large, complex Construction Management Transportation projects.

The successful candidate will manage various Transportation agency projects and staff as well as serve as a capture manager for new pursuits on major projects. The successful candidate will be client service focused, communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders, mentor staff and promote Gannett Fleming's capabilities to target audience --- focused on results. This position will report into the Rocky Hill, CT or New York City, NY office.

Responsibilities will also include (but are not limited to):

* Business development: Cultivating client relationships, identifying and evaluating pursuits, establishing teaming relationships and leading proposal efforts in alignment with the growth strategy for CT/NY Metro area. Develops strategies and tactical action plans to deliver business development and client relations objectives. Identify trends and opportunities for business and resource growth.

* Serving as Project Manager on large complex Construction Management Transportation projects and responsible for the full performance of every phase of a major project or group of projects. Planning, directing, supervising and controlling all technical, fiscal and administrative functions of contractual activities for the project.

* Supervising and mentoring project managers, technical support and guidance to engineering staff as required.

* Initiates and reviews proposals and sales activities. Participates in interviews and presentations.

* Oversees quality of project work performed, client service, marketing, local representation/perception as well as assisting with statewide utilization of staff.

* Attend conferences of strategic significance. Maintaining community presence and visibility through membership and active participation in various professional, civic and business organizations as well as other appropriate means in the Northeast Region.

Qualifications

* BS in engineering is required; advanced degree is desirable.

* Registered Professional Engineer in the state of Connecticut or New York

* Minimum 15 years progressive experience as project manager or related experience managing Construction Management Transportation (Highway/Bridge) projects.

* A strong background in Construction project management, heavy civil infrastructure (highway/bridge) Construction Management and executing Construction Management Transportation projects in the Northeast Region with an emphasis in Connecticut/New York with projects valued greater than $100 M.

* Established relationships with public Transportation agency clients in Connecticut/New York such as ConnDOT, NYDOT, NYCDOT etc

* Self-starter with the ability to address multiple priorities and consistently meet deadlines.

* Strong leadership skills with the ability to challenge, confront and lead through influence.

* Excellent communication and presentation skills.
