Job Description

Morris Group, Inc., a growing national distributor of machine tools, has a newly created position for an experienced and ambitious Senior HR Generalist to provide support to the Human Resources Department in an assigned region.

Job Responsibilities

The Senior HR Generalist will act as an HR liaison in an assigned area; serving as a consultant to increase effectiveness and efficiency of the HR function by providing professional HR administration and support to field management and associates. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Acts as the primary HR contact and business partner for an assigned regional area; provides guidance and coaching to managers and employees on issues including, but not limited to, performance, process improvement, complaint investigation and resolution, progressive disciplinary action, compensation, and career development
  • Partners with management to create an environment that engages all employees, respects diversity, rewards excellence, and is compliant with all applicable labor laws
  • Maintains high visibility presence in the field; travel to field locations as needed to offer support and trainings
  • Assists management with employment issues including, but not limited to, ADA, ADEA/OWBPA, FCRA, FMLA, HIPPA, Title VII, FLSA, USERRA, and WARN
  • Manages and executes all phases of the recruiting process (i.e. posting jobs, resume screening, interviewing, extending employment offers, pre-employment screening, and on-boarding) for all open positions within HRM territory
  • Assists and train managers on recruiting processes and best practices; ensure recruiting practices are fully compliant with EEOC/OFCCP rules and guidelines

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or equivalent work experience
  • SHRM Certified Professional preferred
  • 5-7 years HR Generalist experience; 2+ years of HR Management
  • Strong knowledge of Federal and State Labor Laws
  • Strong knowledge of recruiting, compensation, performance management, wellness, investigatory training, and employee coaching best practices
  • Strong presentation skills, business writing skills, and training skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, & Outlook)
  • Committed to varied work schedule, including overnight travel, and occasional weekend work; travel approx. 35%
  • Experience with HRIS systems (e.g. Lawson, PeopleSoft, ADP)
