Job Description

Shop Floor Supervisor

Best in class Aerospace Company based in Bloomfield is seeking a highly motivated and results driven shop floor supervisor candidate to join our growth oriented and forward thinking team of professionals. Please apply only if you are in the top 5% in your field.

Plan, schedule and coordinate the efficient movement of products from raw material to finished goods. Create and maintain processing instructions, raw material, outside processes and tools requirements for products manufactured by the organization. Supervise all shop floor activities.

Responsibilities include the following

  • Responsible for supervising 1st and possible 2nd shift employees on daily requirements

  • Effectively communicate daily with employees requests

  • Understanding shop traveler instruction sheets and its flow of operations.

  • Work with Production Control Manager

  • Optimize employee workloads per customers demand schedule.

  • Initiate ordering of spare parts or tools required for shop floor activities.

  • Coordinate and review costs with engineering to ensure competitive pricing

Qualifications and Skill Requirements

  • Continued education or equivalent work experience

  • 5 or more years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Computer proficiency, specifically with MS office software and MRP/ERP systems.

  • Able to read and understand blueprints

  • Able to inspect parts and understand any changes if required.

Highly Desirable

Experience working for metal fabrication and/or machining companies in a low volume/high mix environment
