Assistant Director, Group Benefits Marketing

RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position will primarily manage extension of the GB value proposition/invest portfolio throughout key touch points in the customer acquisition process (from presale through finalist), in addition to supporting other marketing initiatives. The marketing manager will be responsible for supporting the Presale team, the field and national sales partners in the development and delivery of content that will best position The Hartford and Group Benefits in key sales opportunities for new and existing customers and producers. These responsibilities require close partnerships with Sales, Presale, Compliance, Creative and Product, among other areas.

Drives extension of GB value proposition/invest portfolio into RFP process

* Owns activation of value prop/invest portfolio at pivotal Sales moments, including: RFIs, Finalist, Claims Tours, and producer stewardship meetings.

* Edits and positions value prop/invest portfolio within all 2500 Qvidian database responses for RFPs

* Ensures all packaging of the RFP material is consistent with Brand and GB marketing standards.

* Partners with Presale team and supports all delivery through the Executive Summary for NA customized products.

* Drives new delivery systems for the RFP, including digital formats.

* Provides additional support to revise and update financial proposals and related materials, e.g. cover letters.

Manages execution of GB value proposition/invest portfolio for key national sales partners

* Delivers all components of Sales support at key external industry events including Employee Benefits Leadership Council (EBLF) as well as regional and national account producer forums (Towers, Aon, Willis, etc.) Includes customized support for producer meetings, and collateral and digital presentations offering financial and performance overviews, key demos based on producer needs, and executive talking points.

* Manages national producer partner marketing needs, including maintenance of microsites and delivery of content as needed.

* Provides support for Stag Circle program.

* Assists in supporting ongoing maintenance of FinalistPro presentation tool.

Manages execution of marketing strategy/content for GB Specialty Markets

* Includes Physician Segment, Public & Education and Group Retiree Health. Refresh and maintain core value propositions, thought leadership campaigns, marketing collateral and campaigns as well as conference strategy.

Provides support as needed for Executive / Employee Communications

* Supports Director of Employee Communications on an ad hoc basis with written communications supporting the Executive Vice President and the senior leadership team.

* Provides additional writing, presentation and communications support as needed for division-wide initiatives.

* Minimum 7 years of Marketing or relevant experience

* Bachelor's degree in marketing or related field, such as communications, advertising, PR, journalism.

* Proven excellent writing and editing ability; familiarity with request for proposal process a plus.

* Ability to take complex information and translate it into terms that are easily understandable and market-friendly.

* Technologically savvy team player who can work effectively with business partners and cross-functional "matrix" teams.

* Proven experience developing compelling presentations in PowerPoint.

* Resourceful - knows how to make things happen.

* A self-starter who takes the initiative to identify needs and then develops realistic and creative solutions.

* Strong project management, priority management and organizational skills.

* Ability to work under tight deadlines.

* Can work independently, handles ambiguity well. Creative thinker.
