Job Summary
Under limited supervision, demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of the activities performed related to engineering support, installation and/or operations of infrastructure technologies. Plans at a tactical level and manages the effective use of technology resources for assigned projects and functions. May direct assigned project staff to design, develop and/or implement large, complex technology solutions supporting one or more business and/or technology area. Develops and implements appropriate solutions that may involve multiple platforms, databases, software/hardware technologies and tools. Facilitates and/or participates in the design and development of database systems. Strong ability to multi-task in an environment of constantly changing priorities. This job is a team lead.

Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities
Develops tactics and operational plans in alignment with strategic objectives for assigned technologies and projects. Drives the execution of departmental and corporate programs. Leverages infrastructure technology to develop and/or redesign technology solutions. Builds, leverages, and maintains effective alliances across technical and business community. Interacts with customers to achieve efficient, effective results. Multi-tasks, prioritizes according to business priorities and production availability requirements. Seen as a technical expert within service delivery organization (SDO) and consults across SDOs. Other duties as assigned.
Consulting:
Frequent engagement with business software development communities in order to maintain and improve GTS Developer Services understanding of their priorities, requirements, day to day productivity challenges and inhibitors. Given this insight, youll work closely with GTS Engineering teams to ensure that our product and service offerings, including Platform Services, Infrastructure Automation, Pipeline and Collaboration tools are providing the capabilities necessary to address business needs today and anticipating future needs.
You'll also promote awareness and use of GTS preferred technologies and tools through individual pairing sessions with LoB developers, assist in the development of training materials, etc.

Development:
Maintain and enhance a set of custom APIs that enable integration between IT / Line of Business developer applications and tools with our backend systems in support of automation. As an example, Remedy change ticket creation is enabled via API call as part of Pipeline deployments.
Collaborate with GTS Engineering teams to introduce and enhance the services we provide to LOB consumers including automated infrastructure provisioning, access management, service health reporting, etc.
Develop dashboards to provide reporting and analytics against a variety of services. This includes metrics on new technology usage and adoption, service utilization trending, etc.

Job Specific & Technical Skills

- Strong technical design and programming skills
- Java framework Spring or transferrable skills from similar technologies such as .NET
- Developing or working with services (RESTful or otherwise)

- Experience with all phases of the systems development life cycle (SDLC) using agile methodologies
- Adopt and communicate new concepts, ideas, techniques and best practices
- Excellent problem analysis and problem solving skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with peers, partners and customers

- Prior experience with iterative development is a plus

Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent required. 5 years of experience in Technology required.

Education, Work Experience & Knowledge
Bachelor's degree in Technology or a related field preferred. 7 years of experience in Technology preferred. 2 years of experience as a technical lead preferred. Advanced knowledge of development (Java or .Net).
