Job Description

A well-established engineering consulting firm is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a team of 5 to 10 people working in nuclear, mechanical, and materials engineering, as well as experimental, testing, and design analyses. The successful candidate will have a Ph.D., at least 15 years of relevant experience, and will report directly to the firm's CEO. Must have in-depth experience working with nuclear industry projects and be a US citizen or US Permanent Resident.

This position is located in State College, PA.

As a hands-on Engineering Manager, you will need to discuss projects with customers, prepare proposals, estimate time and expenses, manage both the technical and budgetary aspects of all projects, and be capable of making in-depth technical/expert presentations to clients and regulatory agencies such as INPO, EPRI, and the NRC. You will be required to maintain and deliver technical excellence with the highest levels of safety and quality.

The candidate will be competent in the design and fabrication of advanced test machines, and unique experimental designs. In this regard, experience in finite element analysis and computational fluid dynamics is highly desirable. Additionally, expertise in metallurgy, fracture mechanics, stress corrosion cracking, fatigue, and root cause failure analysis is expected. The candidate should also be experienced in mechanical testing including, but not limited to, fracture toughness, tensile, fatigue, and environmentally assisted cracking.

In addition, the successful candidate shall have extensive experience in neutron transport analysis relative to the degradation of reactor pressure vessels and their internal structures. A working knowledge of deterministic and probabilistic transport codes, as well as knowledge of fuel depletion analysis, is required. Familiarity with gamma spectroscopy, ALARA guidelines regarding radiation exposure, hot cell management, and radiation protection practices is desirable.

Attractive compensation package (base and incentives) with meaningful upside based on performance. The successful candidate will be eligible for a Principal position within the firm.

Requirements:

?? PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Materials Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering or similar required.

?? At least fifteen years' experience.

?? Should be familiar with a variety of testing techniques, such as fracture toughness.

Must be a US Citizen or US Permanent Resident.
